My Approach

My objective is simple: to create the most beautiful and meaningful images of your wedding — beyond even what you’ve imagined. I find this beauty in a variety of ways and places, using a natural and unobtrusive approach. Great wedding photography is all about capturing the power of life’s biggest moments, in a series of unique images that will keep those moments alive for a lifetime.

To do this, I work in a variety of styles, which we call Documentary Coverage. I shoot mostly in a true photojournalistic style, looking for all of the elements of the day you’ve worked so hard to plan. When doing portraits and groups, we work quickly and efficiently, all the while taking care to keep the process fun for all involved. We’ll talk in detail with you before the wedding day, to make sure that we know how you want the day to go. We know that more important than seeing the day as our photo shoot, is remembering that it is your wedding day…and doing everything to ensure that it’s perfect for you.

As with most things, there are very real differences among photographers – in their style, their experience, the quality of their equipment, their attention to what you want… and in the results they deliver. We believe we’re the best choice for discerning couples who want the finest quality photography and service, as well as the best value. Arrange a meeting with us and we will be happy to show you how our approach results in beautiful, memorable, high-impact images; as well as the best customer service anywhere.

I worked for over 20 years as a commercial photographer at NewsChannel 13 (the NBC-TV station in Albany, NY), shooting all the still photos for print advertising, billboards, bus wraps, etc., to promote our News programming. I also shot and edited video for News promos, Public Service Announcements, and client commercials, as well as producing a lot of the station’s special programming in Entertainment, Sports, and Public Affairs. It was an awesome job until the last few years, when the changing economy took a lot of the fun out of the TV business. Since leaving NC13 a few years ago, I’ve concentrated solely on the independent business I had started years before as a part-time venture.

In addition to weddings, engagement sessions, and portraits, I also do a lot of commercial and public relations photography for a number of clients, including St. Peter’s Health Partners, Albany Medical Center, Freihofer’s, and many smaller companies. One other thing worth a mention–for many years, I shot running races all over the country and around the world for ESPN’s “Running and Racing” and “Race of the Month” programs.

Outside of my work, I’m really proud of our family, and spend as much time as possible on family activities. My wife Noëlle is a writer, just finishing her first novel, and we pride ourselves on (almost) never missing a school event for any of the kids.
