Jess & Jake, June Farms, West Sand Lake, NY
I always tell people how lucky I am to be in a business that I truly love, and if this blog post isn’t a great example of why it’s so cool to me, then I’m not sure what I could do to convince you. This one, actually, is special for a couple of reasons–first, as always, we have an absolutely amazing bride and groom. But next, we have a brand new wedding venue, too. We’re super proud to be the first to photograph a wedding at June Farms in West Sand Lake. Matt Baumgartner (you may know him from his Wolff’s Biergarten bars and, formerly, Bombers Burrito Bar) had a vision for this property, and I think you’ll agree that what he’s done there is beautiful beyond words. And fun, and classy, and completely unique, and simply eye-popping everywhere you look.
But back to this wedding! Jess & Jake booked me back in January, and over the course of the past few months, we met and talked on the phone and emailed many times to come up with the perfect plan for their style and this very special location. Every time we went out there, Matt had built something new, it seemed, so as we got closer, we all definitely got more excited for the big day. Our first location, though, was Jess & Jake’s ultra-cool downtown Albany condo–the perfect juxtaposition of their modern style with the warmth of the farm vibe. From there, it was out to June Farms for the 1st Look, and portraits, and their super-fun Wedding Party and families. BUT…wait till you see the ceremony location. I already mentioned that Matt had something new every time we showed up out there, but this one about blew me away. Pretty sure you’ll be impressed, too.
Okay, you get the idea, and I’m sure you want to see photos more than words. So I’ll just say here that we could not have enjoyed working with Jess & Jake more–it was an honor, for sure. They’re fabulous and smart and cool and fun, and we’ve loved getting to know them.
And last, a special shout out here to my partner in all this fun, Lauren Lucente. All those adjectives above fit her, too, and I’m lucky to have her on my team. She’s developed into an amazing photographer in her own right, and I couldn’t be more proud of her.
